Subsumere was an immersive video environment commenting on our disappearing wetlands. The installation consisted of 3 rear projected video projection loops and 2 separate stereo loops by French sound artist Floy Krouchi. In terms of the images, Hydra, an anemone moving slowly, is on the left, Subsumere, swamp footage with animation on top of spots bubbling up, taking over, and then going away, is in the middle, and Oculous, which is a sunspot on water that looks quite atomic, is on the right. The center video, Subsumere, was rear projected in the middle of the space so you could walk around it, the others were rear projected, too, but in this iteration you couldn’t walk around them. In a larger room you would be able to.
